It's nice that Shere Punjab has a large vegan selection of dishes. The food was great!

Shere Punjab is "OUR INDIAN" in Essen, and ultimately in the whole of the Ruhr area. Since 2003, back then still in Gelsenkirchen, I've been here regularly to enjoy INDIAN.

Ordered 4 menus this evening. Waiting time 20 minutes for delivery The 4 menus (different) were very rich and well seasoned (not too spicy!) We liked it very much Thank you for the delicious food Greetings from Rüttenscheid

Authentic Indian cuisine with a great variety of dishes. We tried different breads and dips and were very impressed. The salad and the baked cauliflower were a delicious starter. The website explains different degrees of heat that can be used to order. There is also a large selection for vegetarians. We will definitely pick up food here again!

we actually wanted to go out to eat here for our anniversary, but corona is everywhere, so order it (for collection, there is even a 10% discount). the food was exactly as you would expect from an Indian. the lamb madras (ordered very spicy) was a hit. an explosion of flavors. afterwards your tongue will explode due to the spiciness, but that should be known to every fan of indian food. the second main course was shahi bend, aubergine filled with potatoes, vegetables and dried fruits in a relatively mild curry sauce. the papadam, the naan and the chapati .. extremely tasty, especially the chapati. gobhi pakora (cauliflower in chickpea batter) and paneer pakora (homemade panir cheese in chickpea batter) as a starter, with a salad with a really tasty dressing (I think mint / yogurt, to put in) and the Indian evening at home is perfect. And don't forget to take the spicy chutney, also with mint, but with a real bang. and the mixed pickles must also be there. we order / will definitely be back!

The restaurant really has the potential to become my next hangout. My friend and I found the choice of drinks to be perfect! The professionalism of the waiters is really great. Find the restaurant suitable for all kinds of occasions, irrespective of whether with colleagues, friends or family; ).

Shere Punjab has become our hangout when it comes to Indian food. Here you can get authentic Indian dishes. The owners and waitresses are really nice and open. The food is really great and the portions are absolutely filling. You can also determine the degree of sharpness yourself. I can especially recommend the butter chicken. Especially the greeting from the kitchen with the three different sauces and the papadam (very thin crusty bread) is great. You can also have the food delivered or picked up. Highly Recommended.

Food taste like real indian

Service is good, however the food served here can't be labelled Indian. All in a similar tomato based gravy, poor quality , the grilled platter with lamb was too terrible. Lamb all chewy and tasteless. Only good thing was Samosa and Naan. Mango lassi was average too. Apart from that we had ordered chhole, paneer which had too much tomato, daal makhni( yellow dal instead of kali daal) ,prawns(had that frozen taste still) . All of these and that too at a higher price doesn't make it worth a visit.

Pretty poor. I can't understand how Indians can rate this place so highly! Dal makhani was served as yellow dal. All veg dishes e.g. kadhai paneer, chole, kofta were all tomato based and overwhelming of tomato and no balance whatsoever . The kebab platter also was gravy based which was unbelievable for us! Lamb was so hard to cut with the knife, forget about chewing it. Only good part was samosa which wasn't spicy and relatively quite ok.

Deliciously friendly and quick. The whole thing with a good price-performance ratio. We come here more often.

Unfriendly service and handling of guests. The guest is not even greeted at the table. Instead, just the menus are pushed into your hand. Maybe you should just do something else if you don't feel like gastronomy. Good is different!

Good selection of main courses and breads. Taste pretty good. Should definitely visit atleast once. Reasonable prices.

Food and service too good I loved Indian food

I love the food, the service was good, and they are so nice!

Quite clean and cheaper than other Indian dishes! It tastes great too! Spicy curry is really spicy and delicious with ravioli! 😊 Very nice restaurant! sehr lecker!

The service is very rude, impatient and disrespectful. The lady who serves the food doesn't have a bit of respect towards people. The food is below average. If you want to get your mood spoiled then go ahead and visit this place.

Rude service

Just plain UNSPOKED !!! When we did not want to sit next to the entrance because it was cold, it was just "no" in an unfriendly tone that I have not heard for a long time. The food may still be so good, but if the staff and especially the boss of the house does not know the word respect and friendliness, then you should not run such a store!

Very rude service, if you don’t have any option then try this out. If you are in mood of getting disrespected and insulted, go ahead and visit this place. Food is just average..

Excellent Indian food in Germany

Not too impressive but not too bad either. Positives: Fantastic Kulfi, nice Naan and Paneer Naan breads. Good ambience and attentive service. Food was brought to the table quickly. Negatives: Tandoori chicken was a disappointment, it wasn't very flavourful or authentic.

The food is good and reasonable.The service can improve.Always lots of customers.Parking is a bit difficult especially on weekends.

The restraunt is not good and the food is waste. On top of that the hospitality is worst. I was carrying my personal water and he shouted on me for that. The owner is very rude. Please avoid this restraunt if you don't want to get disrespected.

Really good North Indian food... Service was really good, food portions are more than enough and the taste is beyond good. I recommend it.

Not a good option for South Indian people. We went in with many hopes but came out with out satisfaction to money paid. More over the staff works there are not friendly

Simply awesome traditional Indian food

The quantity of the food is very less. The staff was horrible.Its better they learn how to be polite with customers.The way they treat Indians is horrible. Its a humor to be called up as Indian restaurant. Last but not least, its a hell kind of place to go on weekends.It sucks!!!

Very good authentic North Indian food. Avoid going on weekends. Due to the rush the quality of the food served is not as good as on weekdays.

Great Indian restaurant

Just returned after having a nice dinner at this restaurant. Authentic Indian food and polite, courteous staff. The serving time was quite fast. Usually i assume this place would be very busy. I ordered kulcha, samosa, karahi chicken and lassi. Recommended.
